The Local Church
The Local Church - My Home, My Life Line
When I consider my experience of coming to the local church, my heart feels blessed. For many years I wandered, seeking to know and experience Christ while within me there was something missing. I'll never forget my first home meeting with some dear Christian brothers and sisters in the local church. I was 15 years old. I remember their smiling faces. Something was different about their countenance. Now I know that it was Christ in them. These dear ones were genuinely happy people in the Lord. They were genuine and sincere and I feel they cared about me as a young person. One of the most striking things I remember about my first experiences in the local church is that they cared about enjoying Christ. This is still true today. This is wonderful and it makes me happy. I've received much love, care, and help to enjoy Christ. Since meeting with the local church, everyday Christ is becoming more and more to me. He is near and available to me when I call on His name. I've also learned how to enjoy the Lord through His word. In the church there is no need that can't be met because Christ is the Head--the supply. He desires to bless us with Himself. Without meeting with the local church I can't imagine where I would be today. I love and praise God for His wisdom and mercy on me. I am personally enjoying a living and vital relationship with the Lord today because of my living and vital link to the local church.
Brothers Watchman Nee and Witness Lee-Channels of the Divine Revelation
When I consider the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee, my heart is full of appreciation and thanksgiving to God. These brothers in Christ were faithful, by God's mercy, to stand, speak, write, teach and die for the truth. Through extensive study of the Holy Scripture, and church history, they unwrapped and presented fully the most precious item in the universe--Christ and the Church (Eph. 5:32)! I lack the words to convey my feeling about these two slaves of Christ Jesus. Through the ministry of brothers Watchman Nee and Witness Lee there is a light shining brightly and focused on Christ and the Church. Christ, His life, plan, heart's desire and intention are revealed to me through their messages. These two brothers were of one mind and one spirit in seeking and ministering Christ to the believers. I remember more than once hearing brother Witness Lee say, My bible is like a dictionary with one word in it--Christ. This is all I know. Brother Watchman Nee died in prison in the year I was born--I can't express how grateful I am for his writings. They are refreshing, discerning, enlightening, and encouraging. I am eternally grateful to these slaves of Christ Jesus. Although they were just vessels of mercy, I believe that the Lord used them to share the truth in God's Word with His believers. They were gifts to the body of Christ and through them Christ's riches are conveyed to me. I really appreciate the writings of these two brothers.
